Libby's Turn

I realize this doesn't sound quite human, but it is, in fact, my Libby girl!!

Jingle Bells

Yes, we are still singing Christmas songs here at the Hathaway's!

Splish Splash

After weeks of pleading eyes, I finally gave in and Libby took her first bath in the big tub. She was entranced by all the bath toys, but it seems her favorite is also the Rocket Submarine. Thank goodness we have two because Evan didn't seem too keen on her fascination.

I'm Like a Fireman

We have been working on the whole potty training thing for a few months. However, Evan does not seem really interested so I haven't pushed it too much.

Yesterday though, he actually told me he needed to go and went and stood at the toilet. As soon as he went, he looked at me and proudly announced, "I'm like a fireman, mommy." Before I could come up with a reply, he told me that he shoots his water hose too.

This kid cracks me up!!!

Mean Streak

A couple of days ago, after obtaining one of my entirely too frequent Dr. Peppers, I was sitting with Libby at the dinner table. The little turkey knocked my drink over and proceeded to crack up...numerous times. By the time we got it recorded, she was growing tired of the game but you still get the idea.

Movie Time

Matt took Evan to see Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa today. Libby and I had headed to Edmond to go to a baby shower so Matt decided it would be a perfect opportunity for Evan's first trip to the movie theater. I was a little nervous Evan might be so excited he would talk through the entire movie.

Was I ever wrong! Evan never moved. His eyes were huge as the movie started and he sat on the edge of the seat through the entire movie. He never said a word!! He wouldn't even eat his Skittles! He just sat there in awe.

When they got out of the movie, Matt called to let me know how it went and we were just then leaving Edmond (I got a little lost on the search for food!). So....they went and watched it again!

And Evan acted the exact same way the second time around.

I can't wait until it is my turn to take him and witness it myself.

Grumpy Girl

Evanisms

Mmmm, Mommy, you make amazing pancakes.
~~~~~
To Libby: "Where are my kisses? Where are my kisses?"
~~~~~
"Listen to me. Are you listening to me?"
~~~~~
"Good night Libby Roo!"
~~~~~
"I not foolin' around!!"
~~~~~
"Are you a bad guy??"
~~~~~
"Little boys are guys too."
~~~~~
His answer to almost ever request: "Probably not."
~~~~~
However, sometimes he responds with "NEVER!!"
~~~~~
"Evan does not eat baby food. Gross!"
Five
This is the number of times that my children have thrown up in public. Is this normal??
And She Likes It!!
Actually, Libby loves it! Wednesday night, as we were eating dinner, you could tell Libby did not appreciate us eating in front of her. And she actually grabbed my fork a couple of times and tried to take a sample. So I gave in (I had wanted to wait until she was six months old since she has a bit of reflux)and let her have some rice cereal. I have never seen anything like it!! !!
She ate the entire amount I made for her and if I didn't get it in her mouth quickly enough, she would start screaming!! Last night, we tried sweet pototoes and it was another success. I swear she barely took breaths between each bite and very little was on her face. I think I am going to be two for two. Two kids that LOVE food!
